First Time Central Heating Grant
If you receive ECO4 benefits as a homeowner or private tenant, we will conduct an Energy Performance Report (EPR) to determine if your property has an E or below rating. If your property does qualify, you may be eligible for a government grant to install a First-time central heating system. However, if you live in a rental property, you must obtain permission from your letting agent or landlord before proceeding.
If you’re looking to upgrade your current heating system, which may include Electric room heaters, Portable electric heaters, Inefficient storage heaters, Oil / LPG boilers, to a gas boiler and central heating system, your property must have a gas meter installed before 01-04-2022. You will need to provide evidence of the installation.
If you don’t have a gas meter installed or present after April 1st, 2022, you can consider upgrading your existing heating system with electric heating options like air source heat pumps with radiators or efficient storage heaters. In some cases, you may qualify for solar panels and wall insulation, but you need to undergo a free assessment to determine your eligibility for the grant. If you want to check your eligibility, you can apply now.
The Work Included
You will receive a new A-rated boiler (Vaillant or Worcester Bosch), heating controls, a room thermostat, radiators, gas-safe notification, and a two-year warranty registration and installation – all free of charge.
